    What a horribly dangerous design you call “safe”. There is plenty of space for a class IV bike lane, but no we need as much parking as possible… please just stop prioritizing cars and follow the Dutch design manual. They have already figured out what works best.

      Lmao they won't do shit, won't even stop a car so it's not protected. they need to raise the bike lane with raised medians between the bike lane and the car lane full of greenery.

  • @Bluebird_Bum
    @Bluebird_Bum Рік тому

    Literally NOBODY wants bike lanes so STOP making them! They cost so much and achieve more harm than good! What's worse, a cyclist hitting a walking pedestrian or a cyclist being hit by a vehicle of any size? That, on top of how much these things cost and how they limit traffic flow by taking away lanes that need to be used for vehicles.

    • @seeatlanta1408
      @seeatlanta1408 Рік тому

      where’s the fairness or logic in that statement? what would you like people on bikes to do then? ok fine, if the bikers can’t have their own lane lets have them all ride in your lane and slow drivers down even more. I never understood why drivers aren’t bigger advocates of separation between bikes and drivers so that bikers aren’t “slowing” drivers down that wanna go 60mph in a 35mph

    • @Bluebird_Bum
      @Bluebird_Bum Рік тому

      @@seeatlanta1408 The fairness comes when instead of spending millions on an isolated lane, you put them back on the isolated lanes that are fool proof, sidewalks. And then we as citizens do our part to report cyclists that still use the road. There are both indoor and outdoor tracks for people that are in to speed cycling. And again I'll reiterate, it's doing way more harm that good. I was recently in Victoria, BC where everyone in their town hates their mayor for putting bike lanes on almost every street. Is it a coincidence that she is cyclist? There's a way larger population of foot traffic and car traffic than bicycle traffic. Why slow down the 95ish% for the 5%? Where's the fairness or logic in that? All we need is to enforce a simple law.

    • @seeatlanta1408
      @seeatlanta1408 Рік тому

      @@Bluebird_Bum The whole goal here is to have alternative modes of transport. cars aren't the only way to move someone from point A to point B. yes, after the modem car was invented, most roads were built with cars in mind, albeit by absent minding people believing that no one would EVER imagine not driving. biking on sidewalks would lead to more accidents than even biking on the road. as far as the percentage of drivers vs bikers...there will ALWAYS be a major discrepancy between drivers vs bikers. That doesn't mean that we just take a dump on bikers and say FCK you find somewhere else to bike. again I ask, so you just don't want bikers to have ANYTHING? not even a slither of precious road?

    • @Bluebird_Bum
      @Bluebird_Bum Рік тому

      @@seeatlanta1408 If you read anything I said, you would've read that cyclists should return to the sidewalks. If you read anything I said, you would've read that cyclist vs. pedestrians = way less life threatening than a fucking semi taking a wide turn straight in to your ass lol. I'm not at all saying to abandon alternate methods of transportation. I'm say to move them 3 feet to right where accidents, while more likely, end far less severely. And to add again to my point that you didn't read, to save hundreds of millions in taxpayer money. Money that could double as building new sidewalks to accommodate far more methods of transportation than just cycling. Money that could also be used to repair the conditions of the sidewalks. If the sidewalk is already there for pedestrians anyways, it may as well be used.

    • @seeatlanta1408
      @seeatlanta1408 Рік тому

      @@Bluebird_Bum bikes riding on the sidewalk with people walking and driveway cutouts every few feet is like cars having to deal with stop signs being placed every 10 feet on the road. Why is your taxpayer money better than my taxpayer money? You want your taxpayer money to go strictly to car centric road expansion. I'm being reasonable and I'm advocating for equity. Drive if you want to drive, bike if you want to bike, walk if you want to walk. Let's make the infrastructure such that everyone has the opportunity to make the choice. ok fine, you want bikers to all be on sidewalks, ok fine you and your tax dollar wins. we'll all ride on the sidewalk. But here's what I want with my tax dollar. I want more traffic calming streets so that drivers slow the hell down doing 70 mph in a 35 mph. I want these deadly intersections redesigned. I want 12 lane stroads re-designed for better pedestrian usage.
